Jan Gottesman and her husband, Ken Cleveland, wrote dining reviews for over 20 years throughout Worcester County. They are regular diners at Peppercorn’s and have been ordering the “Hand of the Chef” almost weekly since it appeared on the menu.
Thus we present to you what will be a new weekly feature on our Facebook page:
This week’s review…
Hickory Land & Sea -Â Hickory rubbed steak tips & shrimp grilled and topped with a bourbon demi glaze, paired with lobster infused mashed potatoes and broccoli spears.
“Steak tips, grilled shrimp and lobster mashed potatoes: Three great things that go great together in the surf and turf special this week. The tips were done rare (chef’s choice), which highlighted the flavor & quality of the meat. The seasoning on the shrimp was just right and the bourbon demi brought it all together.
The hand of the chef reminded my husband of a meal he loved in Alaska. Not too much of a hint, we hope.
Since Nemo had us shoveling for hours, we indulged in alcoholic beverages (he savored his beer flight, I had the sangria) topped with the chocolate decadence for dessert. We figured we deserved it.”
